About Angelo Lobo
A life spent in front of and behind the camera
Angelo Lobo was born on the island of Brava, Cabo Verde — the smallest and most remote of the Cabo Verdean islands, rising from the Atlantic off the coast of West Africa. A native Crioulo speaker, he came to the United States at one year old, in 1972, brought by his uncle and aunt, landing in Brockton, Massachusetts, where he was raised in the shadow of Marvelous Marvin Hagler and the uncompromising street education of a city that never let you get comfortable.
He is a director, comedian, author, and creative entrepreneur with a decades-long career in front of and behind the camera. Beginning as a background actor and transitioning into directing and producing his own material, Angelo’s journey is defined by persistence, curiosity, and a lifelong passion for storytelling. His understanding of the film industry is not a product of education — it is a product of living it, learning every role by doing it, and never once waiting for permission.
In addition to his film career, Angelo is known for his sharp wit and uncompromising stage presence as a stand-up comedian. His comedic timing and storytelling instincts translate directly into his filmmaking — work that combines entertainment with heart and humanity.
In 2026, Angelo completed his debut memoir, Planted in Concrete — a story that begins with his family’s roots on the island of Brava and follows the journey across oceans, through Brockton, through addiction and recovery, and into the life he has built in Southern California. The book is currently in submission to literary agents.
On June 15, 2026, Cabo Verde made its historic first-ever FIFA World Cup appearance, holding Spain to a stunning 0-0 draw. For Angelo, it was personal. He was born on that island. The story his grandfather left behind is now on the world stage.
At the helm of Aginelo Enterprises, LLC, Angelo continues to develop new film projects, including the action-thriller Blue Running. Wherever he is — on set, on stage, or behind the page — he is committed to meaningful stories that move, entertain, and bring people together.
